Tapex Plate Making Systems
Tapex is proud to introduce the new T-10 CE and T-12 CE plate making systems. These unique, easy to operate, systems have everything needed for the production of high quality, inexpensive, printing plates for a broad range of printing processes.
Both new plate makers have an exposure unit, washout tank, and a drying oven with two drying racks. The complete plate making process can be controlled through an easy to use PLC interface. The new PLC interface stores processing times to help users produce consistent high quality printing plates every time.
Benefits
Quick - press ready plates in around 15 minutes
Safe - no harmful solvents or hazardous waste
Simple - very easy to use and maintain
Cost Effective - nothing costs you more than downtime!
With your own Tapex Plate Maker you will never need to wait for printing plates again.
The Tapex T-10CE and T-12 CE plate makers are a solid built, easy to use plate making system.
They come complete with an exposure unit, wash out tank and two drying racks.

The exposure unit consists of the digital timer,
UV lights, vacuum table and cover sheet.
The wash out tank is equipped with an oscillating
motor, large flat brush, temperature controls,
timer and drain valve.
The dryer is fitted with a hot air fan, two slide out
drying racks, timer and temperature controls.
To produce a Tapex Photo-polymer plate, a previously prepared negative is used with the Tapex Photo-polymer plate maker and placed in the exposure unit. The negative is helped in place by the vacuum and the cover sheet. The UV lamps expose the image onto the plate material.
The exposed plate material is then separated from the negative and placed onto the plate support in the washout tank. The motor rotates the plate support which causes the plate to come in contact with the brush. This action removes the unexposed photo-polymer which is dissolved by the water. The remaining material is the image to be printed.
The plate is then placed into the dryer where any remaining water is removed and final hardening of the plate takes place. Finally the plate is exposed for a second time to finish the surface of the plate.
The entire process takes less than 15 minutes and yields a printing plate capable of producing thousands of printed images.
Tapex provides photo-polymer for letter press, dry offset, letterflex, flexographic, flexapex and pad printing.
